3 Injured In Byron Collision With FedEx Truck

Two patients were airlifted with major injuries while a third was treated at the scene, East Contra Costa fire officials said.

BYRON, CA — Two people suffered major injuries and a third person sustained moderate injuries following a collision in Byron between a vehicle and a FedEx truck, according to the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District.

The accident occurred at 11:01 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Byron Highway and Hoffman Lane.

Battalion Chief Craig Auzenne said the two individuals with major injuries were transported to local hospitals via helicopter, with one sent to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek and the other to Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch.
