Antioch Student Receives $5,000 Scholarship

Daniel Rodriguez is one of 10 young athletes from the Bay Area, and beyond, who received scholarships.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Antioch student Daniel Rodriguez received a $5,000 scholarship from the Giants Community Fund earlier this month. He's one of 10 young athletes to receive the awards.

All of the students were honored in a ceremony held Aug. 10 on home plate at Oracle Park.

The students were chosen based on their leadership skills, character, academic potential and Junior Giants involvement.

  • Michael Medina, Milpitas
  • Isabel Rodriguez, Morgan Hill
  • Elijah Ramirez, Newark
  • Garrett Juretic, San Luis Obispo
  • Caden Kalagayan, San Bruno
  • Isiah Sneed, San Bruno
  • Iris Cruz, Stockton

Since its inception in 1991, the Giants Community Fund has donated more than $30 million to community programs.
