Authorities ID Driver Killed In Kirker Pass Road Crash
The Contra Costa County Coroner's Officer identified the driver who died in a crash Sunday in Concord as a young woman.
CONCORD, CA — The Contra Costa County Coroner's Office identified a woman who died in what police said appeared to be a solo-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Concord as Taleah Montanez, 18, of Pittsburg.
Concord police responded at 12:41 a.m. Sunday to find Montanez's vehicle had went off southbound Kirker Pass Road and struck a signal pole just north of Clearbrook Drive, police Sgt. Robert Garcia said in a news release.
Montanez was the driver and was the only person in the car when the crash occurred, according to Garcia.

She was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to police and the coroner's office.
Southbound lanes of Kirker Pass Road were closed at Hess Road until about 4 a.m. Sunday while authorities investigated the fatal collision.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation and police were not releasing further details.
