Authorities ID Driver Who Died In Hwy 4 Collision With Big Rig

The fatal crash happened Friday on eastbound state Highway 4 just east of Willow Pass Road in Concord.

CONCORD, CA — A woman killed in a collision with a big rig Friday morning on eastbound state Highway 4 in Concord has been identified as a Pittsburg resident.

Jennifer Jackson, whom the Contra Costa County Coroner's Office said was 41 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at 6:30 a.m. Friday just east of the Willow Pass Road exit.

The California Highway Patrol said Jackson allowed her maroon Honda Accord to collide with the semi truck, causing her to suffer fatal injuries.

Both vehicles were traveling eastbound at the time of the collision, and the driver of the big rig was not injured, according to the CHP.

The fatal crash remains under investigation but CHP did not immediately suspect alcohol or drugs were involved.
