One lane is now open on Byron Highway, after a big rig collision on Byron Highway in Contra Costa County blocked the road Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision on Byron Highway, just east of Bruns Road, was reported shortly after 5:20 a.m., according to the CHP. A Sig-alert was issued at 6:07 a.m., according to the CHP. Three helicopters landed at the scene of the collision. Early reports from CHP indicate a big rig collided with van. About 50 gallons of diesel have spilled onto the road.
