SOLANO COUNTY, CA — A Contra Costa County man died this week in a solo-vehicle crash on Interstate Highway 80 near Dixon, the California Highway Patrol said.

The fatal crash happened at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday on eastbound I-80 just west of Pedrick Road when a 28-year-old Clayton man allowed his Toyota 4Runner SUV to leave the freeway and travel into the center median.

The 4Runner collided with the guardrail just west of Pedrick Road, then traveled across all eastbound lanes and onto the dirt shoulder where it rolled several times, CHP Officer David Harvey said.
