Measure V

Measure V asks Concord voters to extend/increase the city's existing voter-approved sales tax from .5 percent to 1 percent. The tax hike would generate $27 million annually for the city. The locally controlled funding, meaning the State cannot take it, would "protect/maintain Concord’s city services, such as 911 emergency/disaster response/preparedness; supporting local residents/businesses through recovery; street/pothole repair; gang prevention; crime investigation; community policing; addressing homelessness; and other city services."
Measure V would remain in effect until ended by voters and would include annual audits and citizens' oversight, the city said.

Countywide Measure X

Ballot Question: "To keep Contra Costa's regional hospital open and staffed; fund community health centers; provide timely fire and emergency response; support crucial safety-net services; invest in early childhood services; protect vulnerable populations; and for other essential county services, shall the Contra Costa County measure levying a ½ cent sales tax, exempting food sales, providing an estimated $81,000,000 annually for 20 years that the State cannot take, with funds benefiting County residents, be adopted?"

School Board: Mt. Diablo Unified School District

Three candidates are running to serve as the Area 3 board trustee for the Mt. Diablo Unified School: Michael Schneider, Keisha Nzewi and Dennis Chow.

For Area 5, Carol Trost and Erin McFerring are competing to serve as the board trustee.
