Concord Cooling Center Open Labor Day Weekend
A high of 105 degrees is forecast Saturday in Concord, followed by 112 degrees Sunday and 108 degrees Monday, the weather service says.
CONCORD, CA — A city of Concord cooling center will be open Labor Day Weekend, when temperatures are expected to again pass the century mark.
Concord Senior Center, 2727 Parkside Circle, will serve as the cooling center and is open Saturday through Monday.
The cooling center will operate during the hottest part of the day, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., to provide a cool place for residents to escape the heat.

An excessive heat warning has been issued for the weekend, with the high temperature forecast to reach 105 degrees Saturday in Concord, 112 degrees Sunday and 108 degrees Monday, according to the National Weather Service San Francisco Bay Area.
To enter the cooling center, go to the west end of the building closest to the Baldwin Park baseball field. All visitors must first check in and complete a brief health screening prior to entering the cooling center, according to the city.

Masks/face coverings must be worn, and social distancing protocols will be in place. Masks will be provided if needed, the city said.
Visitors should also bring water and a snack, according to the city.
