Measure V

Measure V asks Concord voters to extend/increase the city's existing voter-approved sales tax from .5 percent to 1 percent. The tax hike would generate $27 million annually for the city. The locally controlled funding, meaning the State cannot take it, would "protect/maintain Concord's city services, such as 911 emergency/disaster response/preparedness; supporting local residents/businesses through recovery; street/pothole repair; gang prevention; crime investigation; community policing; addressing homelessness; and other city services."
Measure V would remain in effect until ended by voters and would include annual audits and citizens' oversight, the city said.
