Concord Man Found Hanging From Sacramento High-Rise

Police say that Craig Michael Fugate, 30, may have accidentally asphyxiated himself while trying to graffiti a building near the Capitol.

A man who grew up in Concord was found dead Tuesday, hanging from the 16th floor of a building in Sacramento.

Police say that 30-year-old Craig Michael Fugate was possibly trying to spray-paint graffiti on the high-rise when he accidentally asphyxiated himself with the rope he was using to lower himself down the building, reports the Sacramento Bee.

Fugate's uncle, Joseph Fugate, said he had never known his nephew to do any tagging before.

"He is an artist. I know that," Fugate told the Sacramento Bee.

Craig Fugate grew up in Concord before recently moving to Vancouver, Wash., according to media reports.
