Concord To Increase Yearly Sewer Rates

Residential and commercial property owners will have to pay more in annual sewer fees next year.

Annual sewer services charges on all properties in Concord will increase next year by  at least $39, pending ordinance approval by the city council Tuesday.

The new charges for 2014-15 increase the minimum yearly sewer fee from $363 to $402 for residential and commercial properties in Concord.

For residential homes, the fee is charged for each single family swelling unit as well as single units in multi-unit buildings and mobile homes.

The rate for commercial buildings is based on the quantity of water used in cubic feet, with a new rate of $3.55 per 100 cubic feet next year — up from $3.20 per 100 cubic feet in 2013-14.

Institutions will pay $4.02 per 100 cubic feet of water, an increase from $3.63 per 100 cubic feet this year.
