Contra Costa County Public Library: New Hours And More July News From The Library

Dear Valued Library Patron,

June 30, 2021

I am thrilled to let you know that beginning today (July 1), 17 community libraries will have increased open hours. Visit our hours and locations page to see the changes.

Here are the details:

Five libraries have also changed their hours of operation as of July 1. These new schedules help to align staffing and allow the Library to deliver high-quality and more consistent customer service.

There is more!

After the fourth of July holiday, three more libraries will welcome the public back inside for the first time in more than 15 months.

The Pinole Library has been serving as a COVID-19 test site since May of 2020. Crockett and Rodeo have offered only Front Door Service in recent months due to social distancing requirements.

The Ygnacio Valley Library in Walnut Creek is no longer serving as a COVID-19 test site. The parking lot will be replaced this summer and the library is scheduled to reopen in early fall when that work is completed. We will let you know as soon as we have a specific date.

I am looking forward to having all 26 libraries open in our communities again, with new and increased hours at many of them. Click here to check the hours at your community library and please do come and see us!
