De La Salle Pulling For Alum TJ Ward
The NFL presented the school with three gold footballs in honor of former players who went on to the Super Bowl. Ward will be number four.
CONCORD - De La Salle High School in Concord is a nationally recognized football powerhouse. The team had a 151 game winning streak from 1992 - 2004, a national record. During the streak, De La Salle was named national champion seven times.
It’s no wonder that many former players have gone on to the NFL, with three playing in the Super Bowl prior to this year. T.J. Ward of the Denver Broncos will make four.

Coach Terry Eidson told CBS5 that he’ll be cheering him on, “One thing about T.J. - he was a hitter as a youngster and he’s a hitter now. So it’s going to be great to watch him play against Carolina in the Super Bowl.”
Ward grew up on a cul-de-sac in Antioch. His neighbors remember him playing basketball and football. TJ’s father coaches track coach at De La Salle.
