Earthquake Near Concord Shakes Bay Area
BREAKING: The earthquake was reported just before 11:20 a.m.— Did YOU feel it?

CONCORD, CA— A magnitude 3.6 earthquake struck near the East Bay city of Concord around 11:18 a.m. Thursday, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake, which initially registered a 3.8 magnitude, was centered about a mile north-northwest of Concord along the Interstate Highway 680 corridor, the USGS said.
It struck at a depth of 9 miles and rumbled for several seconds.

Patch readers in Concord, Martinez, Pleasant Hill, Dublin, Pleasanton, Walnut Creek and San Francisco were among those who reported feeling the earthquake. A Patch editor said it felt like a 3.2 in San Francisco.

According to more than 2,500 responses to the USGS, Thursday's earthquake was felt across the East Bay and in other parts of the Bay Area, including San Jose, Pacifica, Castro Valley, Danville, Oakland, Albany, Benicia, Berkeley, Suisun City, Vallejo and Napa.

A second, magnitude 2.2 earthquake struck Concord at 11:26 a.m. Thursday, the USGS said.
There were no immediate reports of any damage or injuries.
Just last week, a 2.7-magnitude earthquake struck near Concord.
