The Federal Bureau of Investigations raided four East Bay cities including Concord, California Tuesday morning looking for Mexican drug cartel members.
At about 6 a.m. law enforcement officials began executing search and arrest warrants, according to Peter Lee, FBI spokesperson. Authorities from the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department descended upon Concord, Pittsburg, Antioch, and Oakley, California to find six people suspected of being part of a drug distribution ring that goes all the way up the Pacific Northwest, Lee told Patch.
Authorities confiscated methamphetamine and cocaine during the raids. Authorities could not disclose how much was confiscated or the locations of the arrests.
The four people who were apprehended will be arraigned in Oakland on Wednesday morning. It is unclear if they are Mexican or American citizens.
