Fresh at the Farmers' Market: Summer Strawberries

Strawberries are in season throughout the summer and available at Concord farmers' markets.

Strawberries are the most popular berry in America, according to the Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association (PCFMA), and for good reason — the sweet, versatile fruit is full of vitamin C, antioxidants, fiber and flavor.

Around 94 percent of American households are eating strawberries, PCFMA says, and most are grown right here in California.

You'll find strawberries for sale at the Concord, Clayton and Concord High farmers' markets for around $8 to $10 for a large box, $5 for a half box or $2 to $3 for a basket.
