Hit The New 'Taco Trail' In Concord For Delish Dining & Prizes

CONCORD, CA — Good news, taco lovers!

An upcoming promotion, the "Concord Taco Trail," kicks off Sept. 1 and runs through the month, highlighting nearly 40 local restaurants' taco creations, while also affording diners the chance to earn points and win prizes.

Visit Concord, an arm of the Concord Tourism Improvement District, partnered with Bandwango to create a mobile-exclusive website dubbed the “Visit Concord Passport,” to use during the promotion with messages delivered by text or email.

And for grande taco-fans: A special "Taco Trail" trophy will be awarded to the person who visits the most participating restaurants through September.

Selected for the Taco Trail are Concord eateries, mostly family-run establishments, that all serve authentic Mexican or Latino classic, specialty and signature tacos. No national chains are involved. (Sorry, Taco Bell, El Pollo Loco and Chipotle!) And while awesome taco trucks abound in the city, they are not featured in the promotion due to the lack of permanent addresses, organizers said.

Taco Trail diners can social-media share photos of their taco-joint faves or new restaurant finds discovered on the dining route, using hashtags #concordtacotrail, #visitconcord and #concordeats. Votes also will be tallied for locals' top-ranked taco spots, earning a trophy for the top vote-getting restaurant.
