Moving into former Mels Diner locale, the new spot will serve up such dishes as beignets, chicken & waffles, fried green tomatoes & catfish.

CONCORD, CA β€” Huckleberry’s Breakfast and Lunch, a restaurant that prides itself on β€œSouthern Cookin’ with a California Twist,” plans to open its newest locale in mid-June in Concord.

The eatery will be at 4391 Treat Blvd. β€” the site of the former Original Mels Diner, which closed in January 2021, and before that was a Coco's Bakery.

The new Huckleberry's likely will have the same breakfast-and-lunch, daytime-only hours as other Huckleberry's sites, 6 a.m. or 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
