CONCORD, CA — Fans of rock nostalgia can get ready for a night of Journey and The Pretenders as they bring their classic hits to the Concord Pavilion, get tickets now to see the show on May 27, 2020.

Kicking off on May 15, 2020, in Ridgefield and concluding on Sept. 12 in Bethel, Journey will be joined by The Pretenders as they head out on their North American tour. Both of these bands are icons in the music scene and have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with The Pretenders joining in 2005 followed by Journey in 2017.

The current members of Journey include founding members Ross Valory on bass and Neal Schon on lead guitar, Arnel Pineda as lead singer, Jonathan Cain on keyboards, and drummer Steve Smith. Journey is one of America’s top rock bands, with hits that span back to 1981 when their single “Don’t Stop Believin’” reached number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 list. With fifteen studio albums to their name and sales of over 75 million records around the world, Journey makes the list of best-selling music artists.

The Pretenders have their own claim to fame. Known as a rock band, the lead singer and songwriter Chrissie Hynde is able to take the band into multiple genres of music, blending punk and pop into her songs.

Selling more than 25 million records, The Pretenders released “Alone,” their last studio album, in 2016.

Cain from Journey is excited to be on tour with Hynde — “I mean, she is ageless, kind of like [Heart‘s] Ann Wilson. You hear her and think, yeah, still sounds like the record.”

The concert is anticipated to be a trip down memory lane, with Journey playing fan favorites and classics such as “Any Way You Want It” and “Open Arms.” The Pretenders will add their own hits to the night with “Back On The Chain Gang” and “I’ll Stand By You.”
