The June 9 event is organized by the Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa County.

The sixth annual "Pride on the Plaza" event will take place June 9 in Todos Santos Plaza to celebrate the county's LGBT community.

The event is sponsored by the Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa County (RCC), Everything Under the Rainbow thrift store and Club 1220 in Walnut Creek.

According to the organizers, Concord's 2013 "Pride" festival will include live entertainment, a fashion show, raffles and auctions.

There is no entrance fee, although donations are encouraged, and attendees are welcome to "pack a picnic lunch or support one of the amazing local restaurants in the Plaza," says RCC on its Facebook page. There are no dogs and no smoking allowed, and "clothing is mandatory," remind the event sponsors.

Local businesses and organizations interested in having a booth at the 2013 'Pride on the Plaza' can email RCC@Rainbowcc.org for information.
