CONCORD, CA — She's the one that loved you first, but mom is much more than that. She’s a friend, a teacher, a counselor, a shoulder to cry on — and maybe one of the toughest women you’ve ever met.
We asked Patch readers in more than 1,000 communities to tell us what their moms mean to them. Nearly 200 people responded, paying tribute not just to moms but sometimes to grandmas, sisters and daughters who deserve recognition for Mother’s Day 2021.
Here’s what Melissa L of Concord had to say about mom Linda Daeseleer of Manteca :

Happy Mothers Day to the most wonderful mommy I could have ever asked for. As I now go through this journey of my very first baby in my own belly, I cant help but be so grateful to have the best example to learn from. How to love, be a friend, a shoulder to cry on and a hand to hold that will always be there. I remember how hard Id cry when I was small, so scared you'd fly away from me. And here I am, 36 years old and still need you just as much as I did then, if not more. I hope I can be at least half as good as you, and mom. I love you so very much mommy..
