Memorial Funds Raised For 18-Year-Old Who Died In Concord Crash
Taleah Montanez, 18, died in a solo-vehicle crash early Sunday morning on Kirker Pass Road, authorities said.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — More than $14,000 has been donated toward funeral expenses for a young Pittsburg woman who died Sunday in a solo-vehicle crash in Concord. Taleah Montanez, 18, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash reported at 12:41 a.m. Sunday, May 19 on Kirker Pass Road, according to the Concord Police Department and the Contra Costa County coroner's office.
Montanez was traveling southbound on Kirker Pass Road when her car went off the roadway and hit a signal pole just north of Clearbrook Drive, Concord police said.
"My heart hurts to be posting this and it honestly seems so unreal," wrote her aunt, Kelly Wright-Youngblood, on the campaign page at: Gofundme.com/taleahs-funeral. "I'm posting to help my family with the tragic loss of such a beautiful soul. We love you, Tia Boo. We're trying to raise money to help with the funeral arrangements, anything will help!"

The fatal crash remained under investigation Thursday.
"Fatal collisions are very complex and take time to make sure the investigation is complete and thorough," Concord police Cpl. Summer Galer said Thursday afternoon in an email to Patch.
