Mt. Diablo School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Mt. Diablo is August 22. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Mt. Diablo Unified School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/15 - 8/16: New Teacher Orientation
• 8/17 - 8/18: All Teacher In-Service Day
• 8/21: All Teacher In-Service Day
• 8/22: First Student Day

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/20: End of First Quarter

November

• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/17: End of First Trimester
• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/22: End of First Semester
• 12/25 - 1/5: No School (Winter Recess)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (Winter Recess)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Day)

February

• 2/12: No School for Students (All Teacher In-Service Day)
• 2/19: No School (Presidents' Day)

March

• 3/2: End of Second Trimester
• 3/19: No School for Students (All Teacher In-Service Day)
• 3/23: End of Third Quarter
• 3/30: No School (Cesar Chavez Day)

April

• 4/2 - 4/6: No School (Spring Recess)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/7: Last Day of School
