1 Hospitalized In Shooting At Sun Valley Mall In Concord: Police
The suspect in the shooting left the mall in a car, police said.
CONCORD, CA — One person was hospitalized from injuries suffered in a shooting Monday night at Sun Valley Mall in Concord, police said.
The shooting happened just before 6 p.m. inside the mall between Red Robin and Sears, the Concord Police Department said in a news release.
Officers responded to find one person shot.

The male victim was taken to a local hospital. The extent of his injuries was not disclosed.
Police said the suspect in the shooting left the mall in a car but did not say whether the suspect's identity was known — or if the victim and suspect knew each other.

Shell casings were found at the scene, police said, and an investigation by the police department's Major Crimes Unit was continuing.
"No other information is being released at this time," police said. "If you have any details or were a witness to this shooting please call the Concord Police Department confidential 'tip line' at (925) 603-5836."
Units are at Sun Valley Mall for a shooting investigation. The suspect fled the area, there is no danger to mall patrons or employees at this time.
