Spots Still Available in Concord's Summer Day Camps
It's not too late to sign up children and teens for day camps throughout June, July and August.

School's out and now it's time to find a way to occupy the kids all summer long. One option is to register for one of Concord's summer day camps, which offer fun-filled adventures for toddlers to teenagers.
A full list of summer day camps and activities is available in the Summer 2013 News and Activity Guide. The following day camps still have places available:
Camp Littlefoot Wiggle Worms and Playful Pandas ( ages 2 ½ to 5) are held at Centre Concord, 5298 Clayton Rd. from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Children in Wiggle Worms (ages 2 ½ to 3 1/2 ) and Playful Pandas (ages 3-5) create arts and craft projects, enjoy stories and games and participate in a variety of activities to strengthen learning and social skills.

Kinderprep (ages 4 ½ to 6) helps children get ready for kindergarten in the fall. Sessions are held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Centre Concord and Baldwin Park, 2790 Parkside Circle.
Camp Littlefoot Kooky Kangaroos (ages 3 to 5 ½) meets at Baldwin Park for arts and crafts, group games, cooking projects and water play.

Backyard Explorers (1st grade to 6th grade) offers many opportunities for youth. The wooded Markham Nature Park, off Babel Lane and Cowell Road, is the setting for interesting activities such as crawdad fishing, nature hikes, team building, games and songs, arts and crafts, and outdoor cooking. Campers will also go on mini-trips for bowling, swimming and barbeques as well as a weekly excursion to area attractions such as the Chabot Space and Science Center, San Francisco Zoo and the Charles Schultz Museum. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (with extended hours available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
“All That and Then Some" (ages 11 to 14) is a program that includes team building games and activities to stimulate minds and keep kids active, as well as trips and excursions. Sessions are held at Centre Concord from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
In addition to day camps, the City of Concord offers a range of half-day specialty camps such as AwesomEngineering and Construction, Next Gen Video Game Design, Digital Art 3D, Digital Music Production, Chess Camp, Inventors Academy and Filmmaking, among others.Â
