Stockton Man Charged In Antioch Drive-By Shooting, Homicide: Cops

Darryon Williams is charged with murder and 10 counts of attempted murder and is being held on $11 million bond in connection the shootings.

ANTIOCH, CA — A Stockton man is in custody and is being held on $11 million bond after police said he is wanted in the murder of a Discovery Bay man and on 10 counts of attempted murder after he reportedly opened fire on first responders at an Antioch responders Saturday night, police said.

Darryon Williams is being held in the Martinez Detention Facility on the charges after he was arrested in Richmond Saturday, police said. Williams was taken into custody after police said that he shot at police, fire and EMT officers in a drive-by shooting just before 9 p.m.

Two of the first responders were hit and treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. After Williams was arrested, Antioch police requested that Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department do a wellness check on a home in Discovery Bay. Officers arrived to find the door to the residence open and found a man inside dead with gunshot wounds. The man was later identified as Michael Iliff, 64, of Discovery Bay, police said Sunday.

Police believed that the mother of the son of a Stockton man charged with murder and 10 counts of attempted murder is traveling in a dark-colored Audi SUV. Police believed the woman and boy may be in danger but have since reported them safe. (Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department).

Authorities later identified Williams as the suspect in the shooting death of Iliff and he was charged Sunday afternoon on murder charges and on 10 counts of attempted murder in connection with the drive-by shooting, police said.

Police reported Tuesday morning that they had located Williams’ 4-year-old son and the mother of the child, police said. Police had been searching for 31-year-old Kimberly Meeks of Discovery Bay, whom police said Sunday has links to the Stockton and Sacramento area. Detectives had concerns over their safety and police but reported Tuesday that the woman and boy were safe after being found, according to a Contra Costa County department spokesman.
