Sutter Delta Medical Center Honored for High Quality Cardiac Care
American Heart Association Awards Gold-Level Recognition

ANTIOCH, Calif. –Sutter Delta Medical Center in Antioch has achieved Gold-level recognition from the American Heart Association (AHA) for consistently applying the American College of Cardiology guidelines when treating patients with heart failure, and participating in the AHA’s Get With The Guidelines® program.
“Our team has a great deal of pride and compassion in the way we care for cardiac patients. I am incredibly proud of the quality care we provide our community at Sutter Delta Medical Center,” said Sutter Delta CEO Sherie Hickman.
In all, 20 hospitals in the Sutter Health not-for-profit integrated health care system demonstrated their commitment to providing the most appropriate cardiac care by following nationally recognized, research-based guidelines to treat heart failure and participating in the Get With The Guidelines® program. “The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association are pleased to recognize these Sutter hospitals for their commitment to stroke and cardiac care,” said Lee H. Schwamm, M.D., national chairperson of the Quality Oversight Committee and Executive Vice Chair of Neurology, Director of Acute Stroke Services, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts. “Research has shown that hospitals adhering to clinical measures through the Get With The Guidelines® quality improvement initiative can often see fewer readmissions and lower mortality rates.”
