Victim In Deadly Hwy 4 Crash Identified

BREAKING: She was 23 years old.

CONCORD, CA -- A woman who died in a crash Tuesday night on eastbound state Highway 4 has been identified as 23-year-old Jacquelyn Grimaldo of Brentwood, according to the Contra Costa County coroner's office. The crash happened around 10:25 p.m. on Highway 4 just west of Solano Way, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Responding officers found that a red Honda HR-V had struck the rear of an unoccupied flatbed truck on the south shoulder of the highway, CHP officials said.

The driver of the Honda, later identified as Grimaldo, died at the scene.

Investigators determined the International 4700 truck was stopped and unoccupied on the shoulder of the highway and the Honda struck it while driving partially on the shoulder, according to the CHP.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.
