Home prices are on the rise and, according to at least one report, are expected to increase 3.3 percent a year through 2017.
Part of the reason is the lack of inventory, causing multiple bids on houses. Another reason is low interest rates. Another is an improvement in consumer credit, which encourages banks to loan more money.

For fun, we thought we'd look for the most expensive home on the market in Concord that we could find.
We came up with is this four-bedroom, six-bathroom house at 1155 Redfern Court that's listed at $2.5 million.

The home, built in 2004, is 6,868 square feet. It also sits on two-thirds of an acre and was featured a month ago in our homes with big yards series.
