Coronado Auxiliary of Rady Children's Hospital to Hold Meeting Tuesday

The next Coronado unit meeting of the the new Coronado auxiliary of Rady Children’s Hospital – San Diego will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 at the home of Angela Stanley at 1216 Churchill Place.

The business portion of the meeting begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary is a diverse group of volunteers that includes all age groups.

The new Coronado auxiliary unit held its charter meeting Feb. 26 with a healthy attendance of 31 charter members.

  • Jenny Driessen, secretary; 
  • Kris Grant and Hilary Peters, co-chairs, membership; 
  • Carrie Mickel and Jessica DiGrazia,co-chairs, education; 
  • LyAnne Barnes and Katie Hart, co-chairs, social;
  • Ann Goodfellow and Amy Wray, co-chairs, in-unit ways and means, and 
  • Angela Stanley, out-unit ways & means.

Today more than 1,200 volunteers support the hospital through fundraising, advocacy and education in 24 auxiliary units throughout SanDiego County and Temecula.

Membership in the Coronado unit is $50 a year.

All members receive invitations to some of the most popular events in the county where they cansocialize and network. They have the opportunity to attend free leadership development workshops and receive the auxiliary’s newsletter, “Chaux Talk” and online communications.

They have the chance to form friendships with like-minded people and receive the benefit of fulfillment and satisfaction in knowing they arehelping the children of our community.Rady Children’s Hospital – San Diego, a nonprofit, 464-bed pediatric-care facility, is the only hospital in the San Diego area dedicated exclusively to pediatric health care and the region’s only designated pediatric trauma center.

In conjunction with UCSD School of Medicine, it is the region’s teaching hospital for the nextgeneration of pediatric physicians. It is also a major pediatric clinical research center, working in collaboration with world-renowned institutions, including UCSD, the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute, the Scripps Research Institute, the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
