The ocean and bay in Coronado are awesome, but sometimes you need a change of pace for summer – how about a huge water slide?
You can find one and much more just down the road in the South Bay. Aquatica SeaWorld's Waterpark will open for the summer on Saturday, according to the amusement park.
A grand opening ceremony with a lei-cutting will be held in Chula Vista at 9:45 a.m.
The opening signals the end of six months of renovations to bring turtle and flamingo exhibits, new water slides and other additions to the water park formerly known as Knott's Soak City, 2052 Entertainment Circle in Chula Vista.
The water park will operate from June 1 to Sept. 2 and weekends from Sept. 7 to Oct. 20.
