Patch Pet: Juliet
Juliet – a dog whose story will pull at your heart strings – needs a loving home after battling illness and a life on the streets.
Juliet, a white German Shepherd, approximately 2 years old, has already been through so much in her short life.
When she came to the Animal Care Facility she was timid, dirty and starving. We have no clue as to Juliet’s past, but there is evidence that she was living on the streets for some time and may never have been part of a family and has probably never been inside of a home. The transformation that Juliet has made is truly incredible, but that’s only half of her story.
Juliet had been accepted by the White German Shepherd Rescue in Arizona when it was discovered that she had Anaplasmosis, a blood disease caused by a tick bite. Her disease was being treated with antibiotics when the unthinkable happened: a sexually transmitted vaginal tumor was discovered.

Juliet has undergone successful chemotherapy to treat her tumor. Yet in another blow to her health, Juliet began to have a series of seizures. She has not had seizures recently, but as a precaution was prescribed medication that she will remain on for the duration of her life.
Even with the cards stacked against her, Juliet remains an upbeat, sweet dog. She absolutely loves to go on walks when she can explore more than the inside of her kennel. Juliet doesn’t pull or tug on her leash, which is incredible considering that when she was rescued she had never before been on a leash.
