The 1,900-square-foot Prado at the Airport was opened during a ribbon- cutting ceremony in post-security Terminal 2 East. It was the final piece of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority’s Concession Development Program, which upped the number of concession potions from 55 to 84 and refurbished shopping areas.
“The opening of this restaurant marks the culmination of a two-and-a- half-year effort to revamp the shopping and dining experience at the airport,” Airport Authority President Thella F. Bowens said. “One of our key goals was to seek out dining concepts that pay homage to the kinds of things that make San Diego special, with The Prado being a prime example.”
