Actors Fund Helps Artists In Need During Pandemic

The Actors Fund is providing resources to artists during the coronavirus pandemic, including emergency financial assistance.

CULVER CITY, CA — People working in entertainment are facing harsh realities and unique challenges in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and the Actors Fund is one group helping people during the emergency.

Actors, entertainers, performers and artists have had shows, concerts and gigs canceled in the last months, losing out on revenue and now facing questions over what comes next. The Actors Fund hopes to help people with those next steps. It's a human services organization in the U.S. dedicated to meeting the needs of the entertainment community with a unique understanding of the challenges involved in a life in the arts—both during and after the pandemic.

The group offers online seminars and ways to connect with other creatives in the community. Other services with the organization include emergency financial assistance, affordable housing, health care and insurance counseling, senior care and secondary career development.

"In response to COVID-19, emergency financial assistance is available to cover basic living expenses such as food, essential medications, and utilities," according to the organization. "The program also provides health insurance counseling and enrollment support, navigating employment options, counseling resources and COVID-19 specific resources."
