Culver City Begins Citywide Sidewalk Repairs

Contractors hired by the City of Culver City on Wednesday began a citywide sidewalk repair project focusing on uplifted sidewalks.

According to the city, the sidewalk repairs will take approximately four months and will be completed by January of 2014.

Repair activities include grinding concrete and using asphalt to create small ramps against sections of sidewalk that have been lifted throughout the years.

The city said the residents will experience the following impacts from construction activity:

• Increased noise as the result of concrete grinding. However, it is anticipated that any noise generated near a residence or business will be brief in duration.
• On-street parking will not be allowed where “No Parking” signs are posted as a result of construction activity. 
• Access to sidewalks may be restricted during construction work.
