Encampment Fire Under 405 Freeway Knocked Down
A fire was reported Thursday below the 405 freeway and Venice Boulevard at the homeless encampment.

CULVER CITY, CA — A fire was reported Thursday afternoon below the 405 freeway and Venice Boulevard at a homeless encampment.
The fire happened around 4:30 p.m., near the border of Los Angeles and Culver City. Both Los Angeles Fire Department and Culver City firefighters were called to knock down the flames.
A large fire broke out in the same area in October 2020, according to Yo!Venice. It's unclear what caused the fire. No injuries were immediately reported.

Guy I talked to said there was a lot of black smoke - so much that you couldn't see the sky. When I was there (4:30) there was an acrid smell all around.
