L.A. Rams Begin Rookie Camp
The team's 19 undrafted rookie free agents will join the six drafted rookies at the minicamp.

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Rams will begin their rookie minicamp Friday at the Residence Inn Oxnard River Ridge in what coach Jeff Fisher calls an orientation to the NFL for the expected 27 participating players.
"Some teams are going to take them on the field, get them to full speed twice a day on Friday and Saturday, and we choose not to do that," Fisher said.
"We're going to bring them in and just introduce the National Football League to them. Just bring them along slowly over the period of a couple days, that includes walk-thrus and meetings.

"We're going to find out where they are physically, from a conditioning standpoint, and then we're going to get them caught up with our vets that have been working for a few weeks now.”
The Rams' six choices in last week's draft, including quarterback Jared Goff, the first player chosen, will be joined at the minicamp by the team's 19 undrafted rookie free agents, whose signings were announced Thursday, and two tryout players, long snapper Jeffrey Overbaugh and receiver Jimmy Worton.

The undrafted rookie free agents included Colorado receiver Nelson Spruce, who holds the Pac-12 Conference's record for most receptions in a career, 294, and is an alumnus of Westlake High School; Nevada defensive end Ian Seau, a nephew of the late Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker Junior Seau; and Texas Christian running back Aaron Green, whose uncle, Gary Green, played cornerback for the Rams in 1984 and 1985.
Other undrafted rookie free agents included Texas A&M kicker Taylor Bertolet, who led the Football Bowl Subdivision in 2015 in field goals from 50 or more yards with five, and Washington State defensive end Kache Palacio, an alumnus of Serra High School in Gardena.
Worton spent the final month of last season on the Rams practice squad as a rookie free agent from the University of Central Florida. He had been signed to the New England Patriots practice squad in January before their divisional playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The practices are closed to the public.
