I love healthy affordable food. When I first discovered Luna Grill in Culver City a few months ago, this cute fast-casual restaurant fit the bill. Now with the debut of their new Santa Monica location, the bar has been raised again, with their mouthwatering Mediterranean menu, and chic interior.
Luna Grill’s latest design iteration, titled Luna Asteria, includes a blend of light and airy elements with gold, silver and blue details, designed to create a transparent, interactive and positive environment for guests and team members. The “Good Vibes” signage on the wall says it all.
Beyond it’s cool clean interior, the restaurant will limit single-use plastic products, including straws, and offer reusable glassware and paper boxes for to-go items.

And the food? It’s clean, ample, delicious and affordable, with portions large enough to warrant a doggy bag.
We started with two appetizers, the Hummus and Stuffed Grape Leaves, barely making a dent in these delectable starters before our entrée platters landed, the plates as large as UFOs. The Gyros platter was huge, flanked with several slices of pita, a large side salad and a mound of rice. I looked at my dining partner and loosened my pants.

My Norwegian Kosher Salmon was almost more than I could handle, also accompanied by rice, salad and pita. I couldn’t bear to save the fish for the next day. It was divine.
We boxed most of our side dishes, along with two desserts: the Red Velvet Cupcake and the Baklava, which we inhaled a few hours later.
I love clean food that doesn’t break the bank. That’s the mantra of The Luna Grill.
