The Shay Slated To Open In Culver City This Summer

CULVER CITY, CA — If you're looking for a fun getaway or just need a spot to stay in Culver City, then check out The Shay. It's slated to open in late summer at new Culver City development Ivy Station, the company told Patch.

The Shay, a Destination by Hyatt hotel, is a 148-room boutique hotel. It has loft-style rooms and will also serve as an indoor-outdoor wedding and event space with the first rooftop pool in Culver City. It will also have a communal game room, retail pop-ups, craft cocktail bar and feature Los Angeles-based artwork throughout the hotel.

It was designed by award-winning boutique agency Studio Collective, the group behind Hotel June, Hotel Figueroa and The Bungalow Santa Monica. It's located near the light rail metro, which is just outside of the hotel, and offers convenient access to the city and beach.

The Shay will also house and debut two restaurants by Michelin star chef Danny Grant. Grant’s restaurant group What If Syndicate will lead the opening of etta, a culinary concept offering comforting wood-fired favorites on the ground floor. The second eatery will serve up a variety of Mexican dishes from the hotel’s scenic rooftop with beautiful views of the DTLA skyline, Hollywood Hills and ocean.

The Shay will be located in the heart of Culver City's historic downtown, near Sony Pictures Entertainment and soon Amazon Studios. The arts district, restaurants, galleries and hiking trails are all nearby the location.
