CULVER CITY, CA — Pat Sajak, who has been hosting "Wheel of Fortune" for almost four decades, underwent successful emergency surgery this week that has pushed Vanna White into temporary hosting duties, the show's producers said.

According to a social media post by the show, Thursday's taping of the show had to be canceled because the 73-year-old Sajak "underwent successful emergency surgery to correct a blocked intestine."

"He is resting comfortably and looking forward to getting back to work," producers said.
