Fatal Cupertino Park Crash Suspect Identified: SCC Sheriff's
The Santa Clara Co. Sheriff's Dept. has not provided any motive for the crash at Rancho San Antonio County Park that killed 1 and injured 1.

CUPERTINO, CA — The suspect arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide Tuesday following a fatal crash that resulted in two pedestrians being taken to the hospital has been identified as Mireya Orta, 50, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department reported. The victim who suffered from severe injuries later died at the hospital.
Deputies were called to a disturbance at 12:52 p.m. at Rancho San Antonio County Park in Cupertino in which the reporting party told the authorities a vehicle struck two pedestrians and fled the scene.
Within 15 minutes, deputies located the suspect vehicle and detained Orta.

The second pedestrian sustained non-life threatening injuries.
As a precaution, the suspect was taken to a local hospital and was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose.
