3.2-Magnitude Earthquake Along Calaveras Fault Hits In Santa Clara County

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA – A 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck Wednesday morning east of San Jose, according to the U.S. Geological Service.
The quake struck at 8:26 a.m. and was centered near Mount Hamilton, 7.5 miles east-southeast of Alum Rock and 10.6 miles east of San Jose, USGS officials said.
The quake was along the Calaveras Fault, which last produced a notable earthquake in 2007 when a 5.4-magnitude one hit the Alum Rock area, according to the USGS.
