Caltrain Nearly Strikes Person On Tracks In Santa Clara
Transit Police found the person after the northbound train stopped and determined the trespasser was not struck.

SANTA CLARA, CA — A train car almost struck a person on the tracks Monday night just south of the Control Point Bowers area in Santa Clara, Caltrain reported.
An investigation revealed that at 10:40 p.m. the person crossing the tracks before the northbound train No. 199 experienced a near miss, the transit agency added. The individual involved in the incident was located by emergency personnel and questioned by authorities.
There were 14 passengers onboard that last northbound train of the evening. By 11:31 pm., transit police officers released both tracks at the maximum authorized speeds.
