In February, the City Council adopted an ordinance regulating lobbying activities in Cupertino with the operative date of July 1, 2021.

The ordinance allows the City to investigate and audit lobbying activity within its jurisdiction related to the City's decision-making processes. Lobbyists are required to register with the City annually, and the Cupertino Municipal Code requires lobbyists to pay an annual registration fee set by the City Council.
