Cupertino Rotary Celebrates Year of the Snake

The Chinese community will say goodbye to the Dragon and hello to the Snake when Lunar New Year slithers in on Sunday.

Some say the year will “require serious discipline and organization,” according to an article in Forbes, which also says superstitions point to keeping a snake in the house “because it protects you and and your family from starving.”

The Year of the Dragon saw a boon in births—it’s a coveted year to be born—but Huffington Post reports there has been a drop in appointments with obstetricians.

Optimists are looking to the bright side of the Snake predicting that the world economy will get pumping and babies born to the Snake will be “self-motivated and agile,” according to the HuffPo report.
