In a first for Homestead High School—and perhaps any area school—Thursday's 3 p.m. graduation will be live streamed by the teacher Bob Peck and the student broadcasting team.

Cupertino families and alumni who are far away, or unable to attend, can watch the ceremony at the Homestead High Stadium via Homestead's website for viewing video live and on-demand.

Perhaps it's fitting, in Homestead's 50th year that the alma mater of both Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak gets to trot out a live-stream graduation.

Of course, like anything attempted for the first time, especially with technology, there's the catchphrase: "if all goes as planned."

"The Graduation Ceremony for the HHS Class of 2013 will take place on Thursday, June 6, at 3:00 p.m in the HHS stadium. If all goes as planned, for the first time in HHS history, the ceremony will be broadcast via the internet by our very own Mr. Peck and the student broadcasting team. Feel free to pass this link to your friends and family who are far away and/or unable to be here to share in your special day!"

So, family members, if all doesn't go as planned, there's always the digital pictures, emailed or shared on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and many places.
