I-880 Commuters Should Plan a Re-Route
An off-ramp on I-880 in San Jose is closed because of a broken water pump.
The off-ramp from southbound Interstate Highway 880 to The Alameda in San Jose is closed because of a broken water pump, and will remain shut down until Wednesday, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
The on-ramp from The Alameda to southbound I-880 is also closed.
CHP Officer DJ Sarabia said this is not the first time water has created a hazard in that spot.

"That's been a problem area for years. The water was always leaking onto the freeway," he said.
Sarabia said Caltrans is at the scene working to repair the pump.
