Crashes Join Road Blocks In South Bay Monday Commute: CHP

The most prominent cause of delays Monday morning was the injury crash on SR-85 at the I-280 connection but has since cleared.

CUPERTINO, CA — A crash near Mountain View on northbound U.S. Highway 101 south of Ellis Road is the latest in a number of incidents reported on the Monday morning commute, the California Highway Patrol reported as of 9:56 a.m.

Motorists may expect delays as the left lane is blocked.

In addition, a crash with injuries blocked the third left lane on the northbound side of State Route 85 south of the Interstate 280 interchange, CHP reported. The crash has since cleared.

Farther south, two obstacles had also caused a few snarls on Highway 101 — one on the northbound side at Metcalf Road between San Jose and Morgan Hill. The other was on the same side north of Cochrane Road, where a disabled vehicle blocked through traffic. Both of those obstructions have been removed.
