Clemson Tigers earned their second College Football Playoff National Championship title in three years after defeating Alabama Crimson Tide (44-16) in the final bowl round of the season last night.

The 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship Game, which was held at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, marked the third time in four years that Clemson and Alabama faced off for the national title. While this only marks the fifth year of the College Football Playoff era, the Tigers first met the Tide way back in 1936 to battle for the NCAA national title during the Bowl Championship Series, which officially ended in 2014.
