Regnart Creek Trail To Link Cupertino Neighborhoods, Hot Spots
With recent City Council approval, the Regnart Creek Trail is gaining steam with the design process now in full swing.

CUPERTINO, CA — With the council approving its further creation last week, the city is moving forward with designing the Regnart Creek Trail as part of Cupertino's Pedestrian Transportation Plan and Bicycle Transportation Plan.
The trail will connect the neighborhood to local destinations in the vicinity of the creek, which includes the Cupertino Library and Civic Center as well as Wilson and Creekside parks. The trail may also be a link for children on their routes to and from area schools.
The city leaders approved a construction allocation for a $2.1 million design, along with $150,000 earmarked for landscaping and fencing to appease the whims of residents living along the trail who may be opposed to the idea of increased traffic around their homes.

The Regnart Creek Trail is one of the trail segments that make up "The Loop," a concept envisioned in the Bicycle Transportation Plan that consists of several off-street trail segments. When assembled with on-street connections, the trail forms a bicycle loop around Cupertino.
The Regnart Creek Trail will provide an off-street bicycle and pedestrian facility that runs parallel to the existing creek and provides connections between Torre Avenue, Pacifica Drive and the existing Creekside Trail at East Estates Drive.
